Social Activities
Our congregation offers a variety of activities throughout the year to help members and visitors connect with each other. All of our groups are open to anyone, so we hope you’ll join us outside of Sunday morning and get to know your First Congregational family a little better!
Women’s Spirituality Group
Discusses a resource book of a religious/spiritual nature and shares fellowship at its meetings in the church library 7 PM-8:30 PM the first and third Monday of each month (only on third Monday in summer).
FCC Book Club
Meets every other month from September to May to read and discuss books selected by the group.
The Epiphany party showcases the best talent (or “talent”) from our church family. Filled with laughs, it is one of the many ways we celebrate community together.
Dinners Out
Our dining group meets every month or every other month at a local restaurant for fun and fellowship. Members and friends are welcome to join this group as many or as few times as they like!
Men’s Lunch
The men’s lunch group meets monthly for lunch, fellowship, and discussion.
Ladies Do Lunch
This group provides all women of the church an opportunity to get together to socialize and have lunch. They meet the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 AM at Colonial Cafe.
Women’s Circle
The Circle meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM in the church Community Room. This group meets from September through June. The meeting agendas include devotions, updating names of those to keep in prayer, business discussions, and a program or project. The group enjoys social time and fun together as well as learning through informational programs. All are welcome to attend!
Pick-A-Party
Pick-a-Party combines fun, fellowship, and fundraising for our church family. Each summer, volunteers plan special events and outings that are then offered to congregants on “Pick-a-Party Sunday” in the fall. Suggested donations go to a good cause, and members and friends enjoy special get-togethers all year long, which can range from a Christmas tea to a spring picnic hike to a weekend outing.
Epiphany Party
On the second Sunday of January the church community gathers for an afternoon of fun and frivolity. There are games for everyone in which to participate, a live baked goods auction, and entertainment provided by those gathered, ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. The money raised by the auction goes to support our First at Two concert ministry.
First at Two Concerts
This free concert series premiered in February 2014. These wonderfully diverse concerts are presented in our sanctuary three times each year. They have included performances by a jazz trio, a men’s acappella ensemble, a string quartet and an instrumental sextet, as well as solo piano, organ, cello and vocal music. A free will offering is received during the concert which is then donated to a local not-for-profit group doing good work for the people of the community.
