Public Utilities Advisory Board Special Meeting
Tue, April 8 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Public Utilities Advisory Board (PUAB) has called a special meeting
on April 8 and invited the Naperville Environment and Sustainability
Task Force (NEST) to present their concerns and considerations
regarding Naperville’s energy future. PUAB has already heard from our
current energy provider, IMEA, and the city-hired consultant, CES, who
both prioritized extending the contract with IMEA, which gets 80% of
its energy from coal. After the NEST presentation, PUAB plans to make
their recommendation to city council on extending our coal contract.
NEST’s presentation will focus on what a sustainable future could look
like, what energy options we have, and what process we should follow to
make this 2 billion dollar decision.
FCC joins NEST and other Say No to Coal consortium members in calling
for a sustainable future. Please join us. The city needs to know that
our residents care about this issue!
